STOWERS PTA

Stowers is a wonderful school due to dedicated teachers and hard working students, but they are not alone. Parents play a vital role in the success of their child’s education. The support PTA gives Stowers is designed to benefit all students.

What does Stowers PTA do for students?

PTA supports Stowers children through membership drives, donations, and fundraising. These efforts help fill the gaps that result from cuts in funding. The Stowers PTA is a joint effort; by working together we can make a difference in our children’s education.

Your support is needed so we can continue to support our students with different programs and activities such as:

Field Trip Transportations & Admissions
Red Ribbon week
Educational Assemblies
School Safety & Natural Disaster Fund
Student Agendas & Folders
Reflections & various art programs
Technology
6th Grade Knott’s Berry Farm Play Day & Promotion

During the 2010-11 school year, PTA supported the renovation of our school library and the purchase of new library books, helped with the expansion to our school student drop-off/pick-up area, as well as added canopies for shade. PTA also installed “Reading Counts”, the on-line reading program, and California Streaming Multimedia Services for all students. Additionally, PTA purchased classroom books.

This was all possible due to our successful fundraisers and book fair.

Why join Stowers PTA?

The purpose of the California State PTA is as follows:

To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and community. To raise the standards of home life. To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth. To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth. To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

We want to provide the “highest advantages” in our school. The State of California constantly challenges us by cutting school funds. The PTA actively advocates improving education funding at both the state and federal government levels. By joining PTA, your membership dues will both continue to support PTA at all levels as well as fund the needs of Stowers School.
